Intake Sessions or Initail Session
During the initial session, also called an intake session, we review consent documents. I provide space to ask questions about my services and the documents. We also do an assessment for sliding scale fee qualification if you are interested in receiving reduced-cost sessions. We review the information you provided in the questionnaire. I tell you about my style and methods of counseling. You tell me a little more about yourself. The intake session establishes a legally binding professional therapeutic relationship. It also allows for the therapist to receive a lot of important information about you to better understand your needs as a person and client.
