About Intakes

Intake Sessions or Initail Session

During the initial session, also called an intake session, we review consent documents. I provide space to ask questions about my services and the documents. We review the information you provided in the questionnaire. I will ask questions about your questionnaire answer. tell you about my style and methods of counseling. You may also tell me a little more about yourself. The intake session establishes a legally binding professional therapeutic relationship. It also allows for the therapist to receive a lot of important information about you to better understand your needs as a person and client. I may also have to refer you to an other therapist if my services are not for you. During a free 15 -minute consultation, I can quickly answer questions about the services I provide.

For group counseling intakes, I am provided an opportunity to see if group sessions are a good fit for you. Sometimes clients may need more support than they initially thought. I will never recommend individual counseling if you do not need it.

For indivudal services, you may also request to do an assessment for sliding scale fee qualification to receive reduced-cost sessions for future sessions.
